Dr Geraldine McGuire - Principal 

Geraldine has specialised in working on high calibre projects which balance sustainable economic, environmental and social solutions. Geraldine has 15 years of both operational and consulting experience and has undertaken projects in Australia, Indonesia, PNG and Laos. She has extensive consultation, facilitation and project management experience involving large teams of professionals, contractors and Indigenous peoples. She liaises regularly with government regulators and non-government organisations throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Athy Nye - Communities Consultant

Atherton Nye’s expertise is directed towards empowering developing communities in tropical environments. He specialises in community development/consultation, stakeholder engagement, eco-tourism and rural development projects. His Australian and international experience includes development projects in agriculture, animal husbandry, eco-tourism and conservation. He has provided consultancy services to rural and coastal Australian Aboriginal communities (Gingara, Mossman, Napranum, Umagico), organisations for urban and rural disadvantaged youth, and Indonesian ethnic communities (Dayak, Bugis and Banjarese).

Denise Bond - Project Officer

Denise has worked with communities and governments over the last 20 years on sustainable natural resource management, with an emphasis on the interactions between people, forests and agroforestry.  She has liaised extensively between government, non-government organisations and the community, and written policy advice, training manuals for field workers and extension advice for land managers.  Denise is particularly interested in bridging the gap between researchers, policy makers and the people making land use decisions on the ground.  She has consultation and project management experience in both the government and private sectors and with national and international non-government organisations in Australia, Uganda, Nepal and Palau.

Natalie Smith - Administration Officer

Natalie looks after the administration

at Sustainable Solutions and also brings the skills of an Environmental Science degree to the team.  She has a wealth of experience in community art and environmental projects and is currently studying environmentally sustainable house design.
